Media enquiries

Enquiries from media organisations should be directed to the Chair of the Compost Australia Communications Committee, currently: Mr Rob Niccol.

Compost Australia is a national industry organisation, supporting a professional and viable industry organics processing and recycling industry.

NOTE If you are seeking information related to council organics collection services or home composting, contact your local council.
Compost Australia does not respond to such enquiries; an information package about the industry and associated environmental benefits is under development to suport student projects.

Email list features

  • It is a closed list (in the sense that Compost Australia committee members must be subscribed to the list by a list manager)
  • Once subscribed, members are able to post freely without moderator approval (ie. member postings are not screened)
  • This ensures no one but subscribed members can post messages - so no spam, no advertisements and no eavesdropping
  • Messages emailed to the list address by members are automatically distributed to all list members
  • Provides an archive of correspondence that is accessible on internet
  • Provides a list management service, whereby a list manager manually adds and/or removes members email addresses in response to direct email requests from a specified Compost Australia executive (ie. when a new member joins, or a current member fails to renew membership, the CA secretary (for example) will email the list manager with name and email address of the member, and request it to be added/removed from the list. The list manager will implement this request directly). This ensures we have one list only, and that all committee members receive the same information.
  • Provides members with a user name and password without new members needing to do anything, all that needs to happen is a list of names and associated email contact for new member be emailed to the moderator by the CA executive
  • Sends new members an introductory email that provides very simple and clear instructions for using the list, accessing the Internet archive, and provides them with a password.
  • Sends automated monthly reminders to list members of their password
  • Allows distribution of attachments of up to 1 MB. Larger attachments will not be transmitted.
