The Recycled Organics Unit has expert technical staff and provides a range of commercial services in the following areas:

• Greenhouse offsets and emissions management
• Operational procedures and training
• Production and QA systems (note that the ROU has developed a template based system to fast track system development and implementation)
• Process evaluation and optimisation
• Compost facility design and arrangement
• Decision making support through scientific/technical research and development
• Development of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems/ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and procedures and associated mentoring and training services for organics processing facilities;
• Environmental risk assessment studies;
• Development of recycled organics products for specific applications;
• Field trials for performance assessment of recycled organics products;
• Assessment and/or validation of organics processing technologies;
• Waste auditing and establishment of on-site organics management systems (including selection of appropriate technology);
• Workshop facilitation;
• Education and training services
