Composted Mulch Nutrient Contribution Calculator for Vineyards and Orchards (2005)
 

This calculator can be used to estimate values of N, P and K in composted mulch applied to vineyards or orchards to maximise displacement of current fertiliser practices.


Soil Testing Guidelines for Intensive Agricultural Enterprises to Inform Recycled Organics Applications (2003)
 

Soil testing regime to inform soil and crop-specific recycled organics product applications.


Risk Management Tools for the Recycled Organics Industry Second Edition (2004)
 

This second edition is an aid to the recycled organics industry to avoid the risk of potentially persistent herbicides in compostable organic materials. A poster addendum is also available for the bioassay method.


Occupational Health and Safety and Commercial Composting
 

The Recycled Organics Unit has developed a package for the recycled organics industry to assist in the areas of occupational health and safety (OH&S) and commercial composting. This package has been developed in response to the need for OH&S information and training specifically for the recycled organics industry in Australia. The package consists of three volumes.


Fact Sheets: Performance Benefits of Using Recycled Organics in the Environment
 

A range of fact sheets have been developed by the Recycled Organics Unit and The Department of Environment and Conservation to guide users on the environmental benefits of using recycled organics in a range of applications. These applications include domestic and commercial landscaping, parks and garden management, construction projects, urban water management, urban renewal projects and intensive agricultural applications (viticulture).


Life Cycle Inventory and Life Cycle Assessment for Windrow Composting Systems  
 

This NSW State Government funded study provides a comprehensive life cycle inventory for windrow composting systems in Australia, and models the environmental impacts of these systems in NSW using life cycle assessment modelling. A series of user-friendly fact sheets to support local government, state government, and various markets for recycled organics products will be available from the Department of Environment and Conservation in February. Recycled Organics Products in Intensive Agriculture  
 

The Recycled Organics Unit has produced a review of recycled organics products application field trials in intensive agriculture in Australia. This report consists of four volumes:
· Introduction
· Viticulture
· Fruit and Orchard Production


Recycled Organics Dictionary and Thesaurus
 

The ROU has documented and developed a peer-reviewed dictionary and thesaurus titled: Recycled Organics Dictionary & Thesaurus: Standard Terminology for the Recycled Organics Sector (Recycled Organics Unit, 2003 DRAFT).

    The ROU has partnered with Agriculture Victoria and the organics processing industry on a national basis to develop national competency standards for the industry.
