MANAGE FOOD WASTE DIRECTORY
Directory of technologies for use on-site by business
to separate and recover food waste
The Recycled Organics Unit (ROU) has established the Manage
Food Waste Directory, an internet Directory of technologies
that may potentially be applied by businesses and other organisations
to increase the separation and diversion of food waste from the
waste stream for the purpose of avoiding landfill disposal, increasing
the rate of resource recovery for beneficial use of food waste,
or reducing greenhouse gas emissions arising from the disposal of
food waste into landfill.
Note that the technologies listed are for on-site use by food service
enterprises, food processing enterprises and organisations that
house such enterprises (eg. property and facilities management sector,
education institutions, hospitals, resorts). Technologies for home
composting/worm farming or for dedicated centralised organics processing
facilities are specifically excluded.
